We are a small family run Camping and Glamping site certificated through the Wanderlust Camping Club.
We enjoy nature and have run our small holding with our resident animals for a few years now.
We decided that we wanted people to be able to enjoy our space of nature just as much as we do so joined up with Wanderlust Camping Club to create this lovely Hide Away Escape.

Escape the everyday and rediscover the simple pleasure of camping in the Shropshire countryside. Our spacious, non-electric grass pitches at Springfield Riverside Camping & Glamping are made for slowing down, switching off and spending proper time with the people who matter.
Set alongside the River Roden, with our little stream meandering along the edge of the camping field, there’s plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. We welcome tents, rooftop tents, trailer tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes, with room for families and groups who want to pitch together and share their countryside adventure.
At the heart of the field, our wishing well and picnic benches create a relaxed communal space — somewhere to meet, share a picnic or simply sit and watch the world go by. Children can enjoy the freedom of the countryside, say hello to our resident animals, splash and explore around the stream, or climb aboard our much-loved Springfield tractor for an imaginary adventure.
As daylight fades, light the BBQ, gather everyone around the fire pit and settle in for an evening beneath the stars. Fire pits and BBQs are welcome, and if you don't want to bring your own, fire pits can be hired with wood packages available.
There are no complicated itineraries here. Just fresh air, open space, riverside adventures, muddy boots, toasted marshmallows, family, friends and memories waiting to be made.

Step into something truly unforgettable with Eileen, our beautifully restored 1944 American GMC Army truck — affectionately known as a “Double Deuce.” Full of character and rich in history, Eileen offers a one-of-a-kind glamping experience where heritage meets comfort.
Originally built in 1944, Eileen served in Europe during the Second World War before being left behind and later adapted by the Swiss Army into a workshop vehicle. Her distinctive, lower-profile body — complete with recessed wheel arches — was specially designed to navigate Switzerland’s railway bridges.
After decades of service, she was released around 2001 and brought to the UK, where she became part of Pinders Circus. Today, she has been thoughtfully transformed into a truly unique place to stay, while still honouring her remarkable past. She is marked as a workshop truck of the 97th Troop Carrier Squadron, 440th Troop Carrier Group, based at RAF Exeter — linked to the airborne missions that dropped elements of the legendary 101st Parachute Regiment, famously known as the “Band of Brothers.”
This is a stay you’ll never forget.

Originally produced during and after the Second World War, the Commer Q4 played an important role in both military and civil defence. Used by the British Army and Royal Navy, these vehicles often housed vital communications and radar equipment. With only around 9,200 ever produced across wartime contracts — and many lost, modified, or scrapped over time — surviving examples like Isabella are now incredibly rare.
Today, Isabella has been thoughtfully transformed into a cosy and character-filled glamping retreat, while still showcasing many of her original features — offering guests a stay that’s as fascinating as it is comfortable.

We like to keep things simple at Springfield Riverside Camping & Glamping — giving you all the practical facilities you need while keeping the experience relaxed, rural and close to nature.
Throughout our camping and glamping areas, you’ll find conveniently located fresh water taps, making it easy to top up during your stay. We also have a dedicated washing-up station, along with a designated waste and recycling area to help us keep our little corner of the Shropshire countryside clean and tidy.
For caravans, campervans and motorhomes, we provide a chemical waste disposal point for toilet cassettes, as well as a separate non-chemical waste point.

Some of the loveliest memories at Springfield Riverside Camping & Glamping come from the simplest moments — and getting up close to our lambs is certainly one of them.
Guests can enjoy watching our lambs play, discovering their different personalities and experiencing a little taste of life in the countryside. For children especially, there’s something magical about seeing the animals they’ve read about in books right there in front of them.
And if your stay happens to coincide with bottle-feeding time, you may be lucky enough to experience something extra special. Getting close to a hungry little lamb at feeding time, hearing their excited bleats and watching them eagerly drink their milk is an experience that children — and quite often the grown-ups too — remember long after their holiday has ended.
We can’t guarantee bottle feeding during every stay, as it naturally depends on the time of year and the needs of our lambs, but when it is happening, it adds a wonderful touch of farm life to your Springfield adventure.

During your stay, wander over and say hello to our sheep, goats, alpacas, ponies and horses. Each has their own personality, and it often doesn’t take them long to realise when guests are approaching with something tasty!
To make the experience even more memorable, every day of your stay we’ll gift you some animal feed, so you can head out together and spend a little time getting to know our four-legged residents. Watch the children’s excitement as the animals come over to greet them, discover who’s the cheekiest of the bunch and perhaps find a favourite before it’s time to go home.

Available to hire during your stay, our fishing pegs offer excellent fishing in peaceful countryside surroundings. Whether you’re an experienced angler hoping to enjoy a quiet day by the water or you’ve never held a fishing rod before, it’s all about slowing down and enjoying the experience.
Fishing can be a lovely way for families to spend time together too. Pack a picnic, bring the children along and make a day of it. Introduce them to fishing for the first time, teach them how to cast a line, wait excitedly for that first bite — or simply sit together on the riverbank watching the wildlife and enjoying the fresh air.
You don’t even have to spend the whole day fishing. Sometimes it’s just about finding a peaceful spot beside the water, putting the phones away and enjoying conversation, laughter and time together.

No countryside stay would be complete without a tractor, and here at Springfield Riverside Camping & Glamping, we have a rather special one waiting to be discovered.
Meet our lovingly restored vintage Allis-Chalmers tractor, a firm favourite with both children and grown-ups. She’s a wonderful reminder of traditional farming days and adds another little piece of countryside history to your Springfield adventure.
Children love getting up close, taking a look at the old-fashioned controls and imagining themselves heading off for a day’s work on the farm. And it’s not just for the little ones — adults are often just as fascinated, especially those who remember tractors like her from years gone by.
Our Allis-Chalmers also makes a fantastic spot for a family holiday photo and a lovely memory to take home from your stay.

friendly retreats across the UK. We’ll securely share your name, email, and stay date with

Who are the Wanderlust Camping Club?
They are licensed by the government to ‘certificate’ campsites across England, Scotland and Wales. This allows small Campsites and Glamping sites like us at Springfield Riverside Camping and Glamping to operate without the need for formal planning permission.
Each time you stay at a Wanderlust Camping Club site a small fee goes to the club. This fee is usually included in the booking fee. Fees collected from sites help the club to run efficiently which means they can continue to certify great sites across the country. Some of the funds raised by the club go towards advertising and promoting sites. Wanderlust Camping Club also donate to wildlife and nature projects throughout the UK.
When you stay at one of the Wanderlust Camping Club sites the lead guest automatically joins the club. You will be added to their mailing list and will occasionally receive updates such as information on new sites and any donations given out by the club. Membership lasts a lifetime, but you can ‘opt’ out of emails any time by contacting the club directly.
